It was night, and I was alone at my place reading a book. I liked reading – it always helped me sleep. But not this time.

I kept having the feeling that someone or something was watching me, but I shrugged it off as a consequence of reading too many horror books and went to sleep.

The next morning, I woke up to see that my old closet had been opened a bit. I even forgot it was still there. I never used it, though I don't know why. I did my usual stuff and went to work. I came back at 9:00 pm. I went straight to bed, but the uneasy feeling came back, this time stronger.

I was really nervous, so I set up a camera to make me feel better. The watched feeling faded and I could finally fall asleep. The next morning I got up, did my stuff and went to work.

I completely forgot the camera I put up until the evening. I decided to check it out since I finished my last book the previous night. I looked through the footage, but all I saw was me sleeping until 12:00 am.

At that point, a door on my old closet creaked open. I saw a bony hand come out, soon followed by a body. A tall skeleton-like figure stepped out of the closet, and I saw it had large hands and no eyes. It was staring at me with a sick smile. It looked around the room and did this until 6:00 am when it went back in the closet. Then I looked at the rest of the video and realized the thing never came back out. So that means...?

Suddenly, I feel a breath down my neck and a demonic voice says, "I see you found out about me." I turned, and the skeletal figure was there, with a grin spread over its otherwise featureless face.

"Hmm... well, I'll give you a choice. Either you remember and die, or you forget this whole thing and live." He paused for a split second. "The choice is yours," the creature stated, its smile growing even bigger, which I couldn't imagine how that was possible given before it had had no facial features at all.

I was extremely scared, but I could at least say two simple words "," I stuttered, grateful for a chance at life.

It nodded, placing one of its hands on my head. Everything went white, and I woke up in my bed thinking about how the previous night was a completely blank slate. I looked around and saw the old closet in the corner of the room. I still needed it out of my room, but first I will check all the stuff that's in it tomorrow.
